Business Insider has the answer, ranking the economies of all 50 US states and Washington, DC, from worst to best. Each ranking is based on seven economic measures: unemployment rates; GDP per capita; average weekly wages; recent growth rates for non-farm payroll jobs; GDP; house prices; and wages.
As it turns out, West Virginia is at the very bottom of the list. The state’s labor market is suffering, with an unemployment rate of 6.5% – the third highest in the country. At the very top of the list is the state of Washington, with Q2 2015 annualized GDP growth rate of 8.0%!
